3 Decisions to Make Your Day Amazing

Who doesn't want to have a better day? I know I do. Every single day, we get to decide what kind of day we’re going to have.

Trust me, i know we can't control everything that happens around us, but how we handle, react and respond to what life sends our way is totally up to us.

Here are 3 decisions you can make today, and everyday, that will set you up to have a Better day:

  1. Decide to be content.

I know, I know, you're thinking there's no way you can be content with all the “stuff” that's going on in your life right now. Trust me, I hear you. But I want you to see that JOY is a decision. HAPPINESS is a decision. It's not based on what's going on in your life. It's based on how you're going to respond to life and everything happening around you.

Think about it; complaining about what’s happening in your life and how nothing seems to be going your way, doesn't make anything better. In fact, complaining is simply announcing the areas in your life where the enemy is winning. Complaining is DRAINING!

When you make the decision to be content regardless, you're saying, "I'm not going to be a product of my circumstances, but instead. I am making the decision to be joyful in the midst of it all.

2. Decide to keep your peace.

Keeping your peace means you're not going to allow the chaos around you to override the calm within you. (ooh did you get that? So good!)

Let me break it down: Making the decision to live a lifestyle of peace means:

You're going to be disciplined about what you respond and react to.

You make the decision you’re not going to attend every argument you're invited to(Can I get a big "AMEN?")

You're choosing NOT to get angry. Think about it—Every 60 seconds you spend upset, is a minute of happiness you’ll never get back!

Steve Jobs said, "Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do. (#Truth)

Let's go a little deeper into this "Peace" thing:

Keeping the peace means you're going to have to be picky about the people you allow in your life. You know the saying—One of the most expensive things you can do is pay attention to the wrong people.

Keeping the peace means you might have to cancel your subscription to some people's issues. (I hear some of you shouting! Haha)

And…wait for it…some people you know just might need to become some people you knew.

You need to be around lifters, difference-makers, people you can wake up at 3am to pray over you. People who won’t tell you all the reasons it can't be done, but instead encourage you and support you and say, “YOU CAN DO IT!”

You need people who fit into your destiny and not your history.

Remember, anything that costs you your peace is too expensive.

3. Decide that you're going to show up as the best version of you.

Mel Robbins said, “The most influential person in your life is you. When you start to realize that you have the most influence over everything in your life, it's a game changer.”

Wow! That’s a powerful truth. Why not use your influence every single day? Start showing up as the best version of you. Let me give you some examples of how to do that:

Wake up early

Nourish yourself to flourish

Set Goals

Plan Your day

Have purpose

Dream big dreams

Show up early

Show gratitude

Learn everyday

Judge less

Think good thoughts

Be a person of your word

Use your words to build others up

Keep your conversation pure

My mama always says, “If you don't have anything good to say about someone, don't say anything at all.” The scripture says, Do not speak evil about or accuse one another.(James 4:11) And here’s another great quote-”The ability to speak several languages is an asset, but the ability to keep your mouth shut in any language is priceless.”(Love this!)

John Maxwell said, “Life is a matter of choices and every choice you makes you.

Why not decide today that this is going to be an amazing day. NO matter what's going on around you, you're not going to be a product of your circumstances, but a product of your decisions.
