5 Things to Watch

As you go throughout the day, here are a five simple, yet powerful things to be aware of that will help you to have a better day.

1. When you’re discouraged, watch your emotions.

Let’s face it yall, emotions come and go. Feelings change. I know, shocking, right! Your emotions should never lead, they should follow.

When you’re feeling blue or discouraged, don’t allow those feelings to rule your day. Choose faith over feelings.

C.S. Lewis-Faith is the art of holding on to things in spite of your changes moods and circumstances.

2. When you're by yourself, be aware of your thoughts.

You have to be mindful of your thoughts before they drop down into your heart.

Here’s the process:

Your thoughts drop into your heart.

What's in your heart will always come out of your mouth.

What comes out of your mouth frames your world.

Remember, a negative mind will never give you a positive life.

3. When you're with friends, watch your tongue.

Ouch! Do you know the tongue has no bones but is strong enough to break a heart?

The scriptures talk about the power of words:

Psalm 141:3-Set a guard over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.

Proverbs 21:23-Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

Proverbs 12:18-The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11-Encourage one another and build each other up.

4. When you're successful, watch your ego.

Don't let success go to your head, or failure go your heart.

Simply put: Stay humble. You know as well as I, everything can change in the blink of an eye. Humility is the key.

5. When God is blessing you, watch your heart.

Sometimes we stress so much over what we don't have that we fail to be grateful for what we DO have.

The scripture states-Give thanks with a grateful heart. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Gratitude is everything. Thank God for what He's done in your life.

Make gratitude a habit a daily habit.

Have a great day,
