How to Live an Extraordinary Life

One of my favorite scriptures says this, A thief has only one thing in mind--he wants to steal, slaughter and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect--life in its fulness until you overflow. (John 10:10 TPT)

That scripture right there shows that YOU WERE MADE FOR MORE!

You were made for more than average. More than barely getting by. More than just ok.

Believe it or not, you weren't born just to pay bills and die. (Can I get an, *AMEN!”)

In fact, you were made for more than an average job, average relationships, average family, or an average anything.

There is no passion to be found playing small-in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living. Nelson Mandela

Here’s the truth: YOU ARE WHAT YOU SETTLE FOR.

I’m pretty confident that if you’re reading this, you don’t want to live an ordinary life. You want more. You want that overflowing, abundant life that God has promised. You want to take God up on the offer to overflow with success, dreams, passions, peace, joy, happiness, great relationships, amazing kids, etc.

The point of all this—You were designed for an extraordinary life. Think about it, the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is just a little EXTRA. Will it be easy? No. But will it be worth it? Absolutely.

Here’s how to break out of the ordinary and go for all that God has for your life:

  1. Believe in yourself even if no one else does.

Alexander the Great said, If you want to conquer the world, conquer. yourself first.”

Start being comfortable in who God designed you to be. You are one of a kind and He has amazing things in store for your life. He’s not looking for your ability…He’s looking for your availability. He believes in you so maybe it’s time YOU start believing in YOU!

2. Don’t make excuses.

Get these sentences out of your vocabulary: I can’t do this. I’ve never done it before. What if I fail?

Guess what? You don’t have to have all of the answers. You don’t even have to have everything figured out.

Trust that God is going to help you through every step of the way.

3. Step out of your comfort zone.

You just have to get comfortable being uncomfortable!.

That means you’re going to have to face the fear and do it anyway. It means when it gets hard, you don’t give up, you keep going!

C.S. Lewis said, Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.

4. Keep forward-focused.

Keep your eye on the goal. Your only direction should be forward. Stop focusing on what happened in the past and focus on what can happen today and in the future.

5. Strive to see the “extraordinary” in every day.

Whether you realize it or not, your life right now is far more than ordinary. When you look around and see how blessed you truly are, that makes it extraordinary!

If you're looking for that one person that can change your life for the better, take a good look in the mirror. YOU have what it takes. Start believing in your God-given potential. You have no idea of what you:re capable of until you try.

Have an amazing day,
