Simple Ways to Make Someone’s Day

Have you ever heard the saying, "Don't just count your blessings, be a blessing"? Something happens on the inside of us when we reach out to be a blessing to someone else. Not only does it take our eyes and focus off of our own circumstances, but it fills our hearts with joy and happiness. When we bring joy, happiness, mercy and compassion to others, it makes our own lives better.

Let me give you some simple ways to bring life and happiness to someone today:

Give them a smile.

It’s simple, I know, but a smile really can make someone’s day better.

Say their name.

Do you know the sweetest sound to anyone is the sound of their own name?

Compliment them, magnify their strengths.

The world has enough critics. Let them know they are valuable.

Buy a coffee for the person behind you in the drive through. Pay for someone's meal.

This is one of my favorite’s—don’t do it for recognition, do it because you CAN.

Send someone a nice email or text.

The scripture says, Anxious fear brings depression, but a life-giving word of encouragement can do wonders to restore joy to the heart.(Proverbs 12:25 TPT)

Do something for them that you know they like.

Clean the house, get their car filled up with gas, mow someone's yard, buy flowers for someone. Find something that makes you happy and use it to make others happy.

Ask someone about their life and really listen to what they have to say.

Some people just need someone to listen, not to respond.

Let someone over on the highway.

Drive friendly!

Say please and thank you.

It's the little things that make a difference. Let's get back to manners 101 and just be kind.

Leave a nice note in the mailbox for the mail carrier.

Hey, they work through rain, sleet, snow, ice and sunshine…let them know you’re grateful.

Leave a nice tip at a restaurant.

Tip like it’s your son or daughter.

Make a backpack filled with necessities for the homeless.

Have it in your backseat and when you see someone in need, hand it to them.

Send a special letter or call those who have made a difference in your life.

Let them know how grateful you are for how they made an impact on your life.

Be considerate, patient and compassionate.

The world needs more of this for sure!

See how easy it is to be a blessing? Simple acts of kindness every day.

If you can't find a good person, be one. If you have the power to make someones day, do it. Be known for your goodness and grace.

Lift the fallen, help heal the broken, bring life back to those who are in despair. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

And remember, It's good to be blessed but It's even better to be a blessing.
